Title I ESOL Teacher: Ms. Jessica Goldman
Of special interest at Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls is the ESOL (ESL, ELL) program. It is the only ESOL program in the Archdiocesan High Schools. It is designed for those students whose first language is not English. The ESOL program at Little Flower welcomes male as well as female students from many countries around the world, including Poland, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Mexico, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Angola and the Sudan. The school provides the paperwork necessary to obtain an I-20 for the foreign student who wishes to study in the United States.
The course of study for the ESOL student is similar to that of all the students at Little Flower. ESOL students take courses in mathematics, science and computer. When proficient in English, they add courses in Social Studies and English Literature. All ESOL students take the PSAT and SAT test. The overwhelming majority of students continue their studies in college.
Since the inception of the ESOL program at Little Flower, over 500 students have successfully completed the requirements necessary to obtain a high school diploma. For further information, contact Mr. Rosbach at 215-455-6900, ext. 148.
