Today's Reflection

How quickly life passes ... Soon we shall all be reunited in heaven. I love these words of the psalms very much: "A thousand years in the eyes of the Lord are like yesterday that has already passed.' "

2008 National Financial Literacy Challenge Award

Little Flower Catholic High School congratulates 11 students who have received recognition for participation in the U.S. Department of Treasury National Financial Literacy Challenge. The challenge is a new initiative recommended by the President's Council on Financial Literacy. The students from the Personal Finance and Business Law classes were among 46,000 high school students who took the test between April 28th and May 16th. Eleven students placed in the top 25th percentile of the nation's scores. The students are: Sara Ashworth, Liz Colon, Lisa Dotzman, Caitlin Lotty, Jessica Montagna, Amanda Murphy, Mary Ogbuehi, Margaret Sheehan, Margaret Sipps, Kelly Tomczak, and Lindsay Wysocki.

The goal is to help high school students become more responsible in financial matters, such as saving and investing, credit responsibility and avoiding fraud. The Challenge was developed to reinforce the many financial education programs currently available to high school students, and to help them navigate the many choices they will have to make as they head to college or directly to the workforce.
