Juniors have great success at the Philadelphia Flower Show

This year, Little Flower students participated in their second annual LF Junior Flower Show, in conjunction with the aid of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS). This year’s theme was Wonder of Water. More than 160 students competed in the LIttle Flower Flower Show in many categories, ranging from hydroponics to terrariums, challenge plants, botanical sketches, even wearable art. There were also Instagram compositions that fulfilled the theme selected for the junior flower show, Water Works and projects developed from recycled plastics. Imagine being the recipient of an Eco bouquet made from water bottles fashioned into calla lilies.

Student submissions were judged by representatives of the Philadelphia Horticultural Society. The Best in Show for the Horticultural Class was awarded to senior Genesis Padro, for her hydroponics project, and senior Ying Quin for her Best in Show in Botanical Illustration. These two entries will be exhibited at the Philadelphia Flower Show at the Convention Center from March 3 to March 11, 2018. This is a very exciting time for Little Flower, and we are very proud of their hard work.
