LF PARTICIPATES IN PHILLY SPRING
CLEANUP DAY
Dear Little Flower Community: Thank you for your support of the Philly Spring Cleanup. The Cleanup proved to be a tremendous success - we met and exceeded all of the goals that we set for ourselves. Keep America Beautiful - the organization responsible for clean-ups across the country - has confirmed that the Philly Spring Cleanup was the largest single-day, citywide clean-up on record in the United States. I am so proud of the thousands of volunteers, the dedicated public servants, the community organizations and corporate sponsors who all worked so hard to make this such an incredible, historic event. Thank you! On Saturday, I had the opportunity to travel to neighborhoods across the city and visited over a dozen Cleanup sites. I was amazed by what I saw. It seemed like everywhere I looked, people were out in the neighborhoods, working alongside friends, family, neighbors and folks they might never have even met before to help clean our city's streets. I think that we all were touched and inspired by the community spirit we felt last Saturday. Cleaning up Philadelphia is not just a one-day effort. We are developing an ongoing Love Where You Live campaign that will focus on prevention and education and changing the attitude that leads to littering. You'll hear more from me soon about this campaign and how you can get involved. Please sign-up to help keep your neighborhood clean this spring, summer and beyond by volunteering with the Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee. Thank you for all that you do for Philadelphia.
